Most floral towels play it safe — small scattered motifs on a white or neutral ground. The Rose Dream takes the opposite approach. Large, fully-rendered roses in pink, yellow, and teal fill the chenille surface against a deep black ground. The result is bold without being loud. It is the kind of design that anchors a bathroom rather than decorating it.
A Dark Ground Showcases What Chenille Does Best
Black is one of the most demanding grounds for a woven textile. Every imperfection in the weave structure is immediately visible. Because Feiler builds its pattern directly into the chenille structure rather than printing it, however, the colour is consistent throughout the fabric — identical on both sides and will not fade. The rose motifs sit against the black with genuine depth and tonal gradation — the pinks shift from pale blush to deep rose, the yellows from cream to gold. This tonal variation is only possible through Feiler’s multi-yarn weaving process. A printed design could not achieve the same gradation without the colours bleeding into each other.
Terry Body, Chenille Border
The Rose Dream uses a terry body with a plain black chenille border — the same Bath collection format as the Flower Meadow range. The terry construction handles the primary water absorption efficiently. The black chenille border frames the towel cleanly, reinforcing the design’s dramatic palette without introducing any additional pattern. The two fabrics work together: practical where absorbency is needed, visually considered at the edges.
The Black Colourway
Black is an unusual choice for a bathroom towel — and that is precisely its appeal. It reads as genuinely sophisticated in a bathroom where most textiles default to white or neutral. It coordinates with chrome, brushed steel, and dark stone fixtures. It also has the practical advantage of not showing staining or discolouration the way white towels do over time.
Feiler chenille becomes more voluminous, softer, and more absorbent with each wash — so the Rose Dream improves with use. Machine washable at 60°C. The deep black ground holds its colour because it is structural rather than surface-applied.
