Description
There are Pallone configurations that announce themselves, and there are those that reward a second look. This is the latter. Graphite bouclé and steel blue leather share a cool, restrained register — a combination that works hard in a room without demanding attention.
Cool tones, deliberate pairing
The seat’s deep graphite bouclé has a density and texture that reads differently depending on the light — almost black in shadow, clearly dark grey in full daylight. The steel blue leather backrest picks up that coolness and lifts it slightly. Together they suit contemporary interiors where the furniture is meant to complement rather than compete.
The Pallone’s lasting logic
The Pallone PA was not designed to follow trends. Roy de Scheemaker’s 1989 brief was to create something that looked genuinely new — a floating cushion made functional. The chrome steel tube frame, moulded foam seat, and compact footprint (86 cm wide × 84 cm deep × 73 cm high, seat height 45 cm) have remained unchanged because they still work.
Made to order, built to last
Every Pallone is produced to order in the Netherlands. The chair holds multiple design awards including the “Beste Nederlandse Meubelontwerp” and “Designpreis Schweiz,” and has been recognised by the Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen.
