Description
A Blanket Built to the Same Standard as a Feiler Towel
Feiler’s chenille plaids use exactly the same woven construction as their towels. The pattern is built into the fabric structure — not printed, not applied. Every rose, every leaf, and every branch in the Vanilla Rose motif is a separate yarn, woven thread by thread on the loom. Turn the plaid over and the design is identical on the reverse. This is not a decorative throw with a plain underside. It is a textile made to the same standard on both faces.
The Vanilla Rose Pattern
The Vanilla Rose sits in the softer register of Feiler’s design vocabulary. Large open roses in pale white, grey, and warm yellow scatter across a shell-pink ground alongside cherry blossom branches in pink and sage green foliage. The palette is warm, botanical, and deliberately gentle — the kind of pattern that suits a bedroom, a reading chair, or a sofa without competing with the room around it. Up to 18 colours can be incorporated into each Feiler chenille design, determined prior to production — and Feiler is the only weaving company in Germany capable of producing brightly woven chenille with such a variety of colours. The Vanilla Rose uses this range with restraint, building a multi-tonal design that reads as soft rather than saturated.
150×250cm — A Generous Format
At 150×250cm, this plaid is large enough to cover a single bed as a decorative layer, wrap around two people on a sofa, or use as a lightweight seasonal blanket. It is not a lap throw — it is a full-size blanket in chenille construction. The generous dimensions also allow the Vanilla Rose pattern to read as a full composition rather than a cropped repeat.
Why Chenille Works as a Blanket Material
Chenille’s pile structure — fibres radiating outward from a core yarn — makes it naturally soft and insulating without significant weight. Genuine Feiler chenille is a unique, fluffy fabric made from pure cotton, characterised by a pleasantly soft pile, high absorbency, and colour fastness. As a blanket, the pile traps air efficiently, providing warmth without the heaviness of woven wool or the synthetic feel of fleece. It is machine washable at 60°C, which means it can be laundered to a hygienic temperature without dry cleaning.
