Silk is one of the most delicate protein fibres in any bedroom — and it deserves a detergent developed specifically for it. Intervall Tenestar is a specialist washing concentrate formulated exclusively for pure silk, silk-viscose blends, cupro, and other silky fabrics, used and recommended by leading silk garment and bedding manufacturers including Bogner, Zimmerli, and Silkmood.
Standard detergents — even those labelled as gentle — contain ingredients that damage silk over time. Alkaline detergents dissolve the protein structure of the silk fibre, causing it to become rough and matt with repeated washing. Enzymes dissolve the protein chain. Optical brighteners cause colour fade. Lipid-replenishers — present in wool detergents — leave silk looking slightly greasy and shabby.
Tenestar contains none of these: no lipid-replenishers, no optical brighteners, no bleaching agents, no enzymes. Its mild, chemically neutral surfactants clean the silk without attacking the fibre structure — preserving the characteristic bright play of colours and the smooth, lustrous surface that makes silk so prized.
Suitable for both hand and machine washing. Highly concentrated — one bottle provides approximately 16 washes. Completely biodegradable. Produced in Germany by Intervall since 1978. Available in perfume-free version for allergy sufferers.
Suitable for: pure silk, viscose, cupro, silk-viscose blends. Not suitable for: wool/silk blends (use Tenemoll instead).
